Fried Shrimp with Garlic & Pepper


  • 400g of Shrimp or king prawns
  • 20 cloves of small garlics, chopped
  • 1-2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1 cup of Healthy Chef Cooking Oil for frying prawns
  • 1 cup of coriander
  • 1 tbsp of oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp of fish sauce or soybean sauce
  • 1 tbsp of seasoning sauce
  • 2 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp of water
  • ½ cup of coriander leaf


  1. Clean the prawns and then peel them. Cut the back and pull out the black line. Set aside.
  2. Heat the wok with Healthy Chef Cooking Oil with medium to high heat. Then deep fry the prawns for about 1 to 2 minutes until the color turns to white. (Tip - to get the best taste of prawns, it must not be over cooked.).
  3. In the same wok or pan, remove the prawns frying oil and leave about 1 tbsp left on the wok. 
  4. Then add chopped garlic and stir for about 15-20 seconds or until it’s fragrant and yellow. 
  5. Add the fried prawns and seasoning with oyster sauce, soybean sauce, brown sugar and mix and fry for about 3 minutes. 
  6. Add ground pepper and stir to combine. Taste as you like.
  7. Transfer prawns to a serving plate and garnish with fried garlic and coriander leaves.
  8. Ready to serve with Jasmine rice and sliced cucumbers and chili fish sauce.
